Product description SILRES® BS 1703 is intended primarily for in-plantwater-repellent treatment of fiber-reinforced cementproducts, like e.g. fiber-cement board. It significantlyreduces the capillary water absorption of theconstruction materials after setting and reachingequilibrium moisture. Properties SILRES® BS 1703 is a liquid but waterless oligomericsiloxane of a relatively low viscosity. It is not waterthinable, but intended to be used in water-basedconstruction material processes involving high-shearmixer units, especially for manufacturing fiberreinforced cement-products, like e.g. fiber-cementboard. As an admix additive for the integral waterrepellent treatment, it is usually added undiluted intothe mixer. Application SILRES® BS 1703 is added undiluted into the mixer,usually at dosage levels ranging from 0.1 to 0.3 % byweight based on the overall solids level. For theunimpaired product performance proper mixing into thecement-based slurry is required. Storage The 'Best use before end' date of each batch is shownon the product label. Storage beyond the date specified on the label doesnot necessarily mean that the product is no longerusable. In this case however, the properties requiredfor the intended use must be checked for qualityassurance reasons.
